Friction Fire Weekend: Primitive Firecraft Intensive
Spend a full weekend learning one of humanity’s oldest and most rewarding skills: making fire by friction.
This immersive course goes far beyond using a pre-made bow drill set. Participants will learn the principles of friction fire, then gather natural materials from the landscape and craft their own complete fire kit using traditional hand tools.
You’ll learn wood selection, making cordage, spindle and hearth carving, tinder bundle construction, body mechanics, troubleshooting, and ember-to-flame technique. Throughout the weekend, we focus on repeatable skill—not luck.
By the end of the program, you’ll leave with your own handcrafted kit and the confidence to create fire using knowledge, patience, and the materials around you.
