Stone Tools Weekend: Primitive Toolmaking Intensive
Spend a full weekend learning one of humanity’s oldest and most transformative skills: shaping stone into sharp, functional tools.
This immersive course goes far beyond making a simple arrowhead. Participants will learn the principles of stone fracture, toolstone selection, and traditional reduction techniques, then work natural materials into usable blades, scrapers, points, and cutting tools using time-tested methods.
You’ll learn percussion and pressure flaking, hammerstone use, billet control, edge refinement, platform preparation, safe handling, and troubleshooting common mistakes. Throughout the weekend, we focus on repeatable skill—not luck.
By the end of the program, you’ll leave with your own handcrafted tools and the confidence to shape stone using knowledge, patience, and practiced technique.
